Nothing Like a Snow Day

Yesterday when I Googled myself, which I am sure everyone does on ocassion, I found the usual links to random pages of my website, a link to this completely unfinished blog, with half-written entries, and a new link, to a client's blog. I took a quick look and was impressed by her writing and smiled at the mention of "the very talented Maegan Dougherty" and the link to my site, and decided I would read more later.

This morning I had a photo shoot scheduled with Lexie-Ann at 9:00. When my BlackBerry alarm when off at 6:30, I clicked on snooze because I really didn't have to get up until 7:00. I also saw that I had one e-mail. And since I cannot stand to leave an e-mail unread, I of course had to read it. It was from Lexie-Ann's mom asking if we could reschedule because Lexie had been up late crying and probably wouldn't be her adorably happy and smiling self this morning.

Although I really look forward to my photo shoots and was especially excited to see the big mounted canvases Lexie's mom bought this month, there is just nothing like the feeling when you find out you can stay in bed! I was like a kid on a snow day...I didn't have to get up and go to school. I actually giggled with excitement!

Then about two minutes later I got up anyway and came down to the computer.

I checked out the websites of my favorite photographers for new stuff and then looked back at the blog I found yesterday. I only read a few entries before taking a break to write this, but I had already cried and laughed out loud...literally. Such a beautifully written and heart warming account of motherhood and the joy a baby brings to a family, now favorited for my regular reading and enjoyment!

Down came the rain and...

...washed the spider out!

How cute is that expression?!

Lexie-Ann at Six Months

Last week I had another session with Lexie-Ann. She just keeps getting cuter and cuter and is such a happy baby. She pretty much learned to roll over in front of my eyes. It was very cool! Here she is just about to roll over and almost off the ottoman. Don't worry, her mom and I caught her in time!

Twins Grow in Brooklyn

I am writing this two months after I went to Brooklyn to take pictures of my good friend Dora and her family in honor of Isabella and Sienna turning six months old. I still have such nice memories of the day. I hadn't seen the girls since I visited at the hospital when when were just born, and it was so special to see my friend be a mom!
